“The Key to the Future” A Gala Celebration in International Education

In more than one way, Friday the 27th turned out to be one of the coolest day in May in Sydney. From the moment we learned that the prestigious Sydney Crown Towers at Barangaroo was to be the venue for the Times Education Sydney Open Day we knew this was going to be a very elegant affair.

Over 300 attendees were entertained along with VIP’s, sponsors, and other honoured guests by our affable hosts, Aitana Ospina and Bowen Shiao who kicked off proceedings by acknowledging the generous sponsorship of our friends at CQU and Flywire.

A sumptuous three-course meal prepared by the first-class chefs from Crown Towers included beef, chicken, and seafood delicacies from around Australia. Throughout the meal guests were charmed by the dulcet tones and musical stylings of Vitor Mendez.

In addition to hearing from Charles Shiao in his capacity as CEO of Times Education, guests had the privilege of hearing motivating and inspiring words from the Lord Mayor of the City of Parramatta, Ms Donna Davis, and Mr Mel Congerton, who is the Deputy Mayor of the City of Swan in Perth and Chair of the Board of Governors of the International Institute of Business and Technology (IIBT). Next was heard a recorded message delivered all the way from China by Consul-General of Australia in Chengdu, Ms Adele Neary before the honourable Phil Honeywood, CEO of the International Education Association of Australia spoke eloquently. To conclude speeches was Ms. Dushi Marjanovic, Director of Global Agent Partnerships for Flywire Corporation.

The Brisbane Open Day was not to be outdone. Brisbane City Hilton’s cavernous Grand Ballroom quickly filled with excited guests who – in addition to moving speeches from Charles, May and the Diamond sponsor, Jennifer Yan from ForceOne Realty – were treated to musical performances from Aileen Shao and ABC as well as, Kenji Lee. Kenji sang original arrangements from his musical, “Marry Me, Maybe”. Of course, there was also bunch of great prizes with the $1000+ Grand Prize sponsored by Robam Kitchen Appliances.

As well as expressing thanks to their Education Consultant partners by providing great food and entertainment, an important objective for each event was for Times Education to officially launch the EduHUB, EduPATH and EduAIR online platforms.  To this end, slick video presentations outlining the benefits of each system for respective users including education consultants, were played for the audience.
